Tools Professional Development Workshops

Tools of the Mind is a research-based early childhood program focused on both teacher and child-development, combining professional development and a comprehensive curriculum for PreK and K. Programs access our combined professional development and curriculum model through Regional Tools Training Workshops across the country, or by contracting for on-site training (for programs with >15 classrooms). Professional development includes a series of in-person workshops spread across the year, access to eLearning modules and webinars, and a subscription to our innovative iPad app iScaffold, a virtual ‘coach in your pocket’ with video and Quick Start Guides for all activities. Teacher manual sets are included with registration, and registered participants can purchase curriculum materials kits.

Partnership with Tools of the Mind begins with registration for one of our Regional Training Workshop series, or by contacting us to set up individual contracts for larger programs or districts.

Tools PreK Program

Tools PreK program is designed to be used with children ages 3 to 4 in PreK and preschool settings. The program has half-day and full-day models and works well in 2-5 days/week programs. Teaching strategies and activity design work together with the classroom schedule and environment, to support the development of self-regulation and executive function skills, and unify the teacher’s approach to teaching and learning across the curriculum. The program is comprehensive, covering all content, as well as state, Head Start and national standards.

Tools K Program

Tools K program is designed to be used in public or private K classrooms. The program works best in a full-day model and requires an assistant. Teaching strategies and activity design work together with the classroom schedule and environment, to support the development of self-regulation and executive function skills, and unify the teacher’s approach to teaching and learning across the curriculum. The program is comprehensive, covering all content, as well as individual state and Common Core State Standards. There are two options in K: The complete comprehensive curriculum including all literacy, math and science, and an option that can dovetail with program’s current math curriculum.
